After war, let there be peace



Interesting article regarding how, despite all media reports, the world is becoming more peaceful.

Media would like all of us to believe that the world is going to hell, because those kind of reports sell. Additionally, human nature drives us to revel in nostalgia and believe that the worst is going to happen. However, I believe that if you have an historical perspective, the world is doing so much better as a whole today. Granted, there continues to be mass suffering in so many places, but I am not recommending complacency.

Instead, let's be thankful that technology and ambition have allowed society to evolve and to improve people's lives. In the spirit of Thanksgiving Day, let's just take a moment to realize that society as a whole is getting better, even if it is at a snail's pace.
